New Metalwork!

I thought it was about time I let you see what I've been up to lately. So here are a few photos of my recent metalwork! I'm really having fun working with beautiful hand-cut cabs and gemstone beads. I love the splash of color they add, especially paired with the darkened silver. I hope you like what you see! :)

Thank you for looking! :)

  1. These are all fabulous...:D The first one is my favorite!

Just out of curiosity, the rectangular ovals and drop=shaped metal pieces are made out of wire that you soldered or they're done with a die-cutter?

    1. Hi Sha! Thank you so much for looking and for the kind words about my work! That first one is my fav too! Those are "MY" colors! LOL. As for your question, those were made using sterling wire, that I wrapped around my ring mandrel into a circle, then soldered. Then I used my round nose pliers to pull it into the start of an oval, and then I forged it until I got the shape I wanted. I used one of my steel dapping punches to refine the ends (rounded part) by using them as a mini mandrel. Hope that helps! :)

    1. Thanks Pp!!! Yep, I left the back semi-open -- I set it on a sterling washer. I need to take pics of the back! :)
